The Good, the Bold, and the Game-Changing.

The first big trade event of the year – CES 2025 (aka the Consumer Electronic Show) – descended onto Las Vegas last week, giving the public a sneak peek at the latest and greatest gadgets coming this year.

For some of the Current Global team, it was boots on the ground, helping clients like L’Oreal and Abbott stand out from the CES crowd with coverage that highlighted L’Oreal’s new skin analysis tool – the Cell BioPrint – and Abbott’s innovative continuous glucose monitor Lingo.

Some 5000 miles away, our team here in London has been keeping close tabs on CES from the sidelines. Here are a few of our favourite announcements, trends and learnings from what organisers bill as “The Most Powerful Tech Event in the World”:

  • Smart home tech focused on seamless connectivity, but the real stars were the little gadgets adding joy to daily life. The Roam SodaTop carbonates water on the go, while the AI-powered LeafyPod keeps houseplants perfectly watered, giving hope to plant owners everywhere who discover their fingers aren’t as green as they hoped. Leah Schildkraut, Account Director.
  • CES showcased a strong range of wearable tech, from the ever-popular smartwatch that’s pretty much the norm these days to more out-there offerings like the next-generation of smart glasses and even an 18-karat gold smart ring to track key fitness metrics. The sector shows no signs of slowing down. As a longtime fan of my Garmin watch, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of envy at the new Instinct 3 with its full colour AMOLED Display option although as a long-term glasses wearer, I’m not quite ready for smart specs just yet! Olly Davies, Account Manager.
  • Health tech at CES 2025 showcased innovations improving care access and patient experience. MedicosBiotech’s Cure Silk app analyzes images to personalize chronic wound treatments. FlowBeams introduced a needleless injection system for administering vaccines and insulin, reducing pain and medical waste and Eli Health’s Hormometer enables daily at-home hormone monitoring with just a saliva sample. Chase Hancock-Grider, Senior Associate.
  • This year’s event showcased a push for more inclusive, adaptive tech. Samsung’s Vision AI enhances TV accessibility with Live Translate and AI-powered audio subtitles for visually impaired users. Age tech was another key theme, tapping into the growing 50+ market set to hit $120 billion by 2030 with some cool innovations being put through its paces such as Bio Leg by BionicM and L’Oréal’s My Aura Camilla Wallace, Vice President.
  • As a magpie for all things aesthetic-related, beauty tech stood out for me. Samsung’s AI-powered mirror analyzes skin and recommends tailored products, while Withings’ Omnia offers a full-body scan for health insights. Both are game changers for the industry. Celestina Olukoga, Senior Manager.
  • You knew it was coming…AI. From NVIDIA’s pocket-sized superchip to smarter, safer autonomous tech, CES offered a glimpse into the future. Agentic AI promises to transform workflows, freeing us for what really matters. One thing’s clear: AI, autonomous systems, and digital twins aren’t just the next big thing – they’re here, and the tech world is all in. Ant Avrili, Account Director.

With CES setting the stage for what we all as consumers can expect from technology – in our homes, in our cars, for our bodies, in the workplace this year – we’re excited to help our clients continue to showcase their innovations and lead their categories; and also to tantalise your tech-related taste buds with insights into the developments we think we’ll all be connecting about over the coming months.
